Oh, the joyous things that happen when my friends get ideas. Me and some friends have heard several things (mostly from e-mail fowads) of what to do on a boring day whilst in a car and in the company of some loony friends.

#1.   Pull up to a four-way stoplight when it's just about to turn green, stop the car, and have my best buddy get out, go around front, open the hood, and start working under the hood as if there's a problem. Make sure afore-mentioned friend has a serious case of plumer-crack as he does it. "Work" all through the green light so that everyone behind us is genuinely angry (I can already hear some of the insults and lovely expletives we'll be hearing from behind us). Work all through the green light and the next red light. When the light has been green the second time for awhile, have friend get in the car. Then, do all the motions as if we're arguing and fighting like there's no tomorrow, all the way until the light turns yellow. At the last possible second, speed through the yellow light, but make sure that it turns red before the guy behind us can get through.

#2.  Go through a drive-thru..... backwards.

#3.  Go through a drive-thru with my friend sitting on the hood of the car to accept the food at the window.

#4.  At a drive-thru speaker, speak in some made-up language so that the order-taker can't understand. When the manager comes to the mic, speak in perfect English and ask why the order-taker couldn't understand.

#5.   Have friend moon the car in the next lane (I am NOT going to be present for this one. No way. Ever. He can moon someone just fine without me.)

#6.   Drive through town with the windows rolled down and the songs "We're All Crazy And Warped", "The Llama Song" and/or "Woo Hoo" (you know, the song that plays during the Vonage commercials... lol) playing FULL BLAST. Act like we don't notice a thing.

There you have it. Just a few things to do on a weekend when you have time to kill somewhere where no one will recognize you. I just might try some of these, (#1 sounds pretty good....) but I don't think I have the guts to try most of the others.

Meet my new virtual pet! (scroll down to see him at the bottom of the page)

Isn't he cute?

I don't know why I named him "Freddy"; the name just kinda popped into my head.

Check back later. I'm thinking about getting some more virtual pets.

WARNING! This post contains random rambling, and you may find it hard to understand at times! AND IT IS VERY LONG! READ ONLY IF YOU HAVE A NICE CHUNK OF TIME!

OK, there's the ramble warning. What am I rambling about, you ask? None other than "A Series of Unfortunate Events"!

WARNING #2! The rest of this post may contain spoilers and theories about how the series will end! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! TAKE THIS IN HAND WITH WARNING #1!!!

Okay, that's enough warning. If you don't want the books/movies spoiled, don't read on.

However, if you are a fan of the books/movies and don't worry about spoilers and can understand my ranting, do enjoy!

Anyways, I've become a fan of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I like the books and the movies, and I really don't know which of the two is better. I've read books 1 through 8, and I'm desperately wanting to read book 9!

My favorite characters list is as follows:

1. Uncle Monty

2. Mr Poe

3. Violet

4. Klaus

5. Sunny

(Don't ask me why Mr. Poe is high on my favorite characters list, because I don't know! Give me some slack, I've already had a few people state my insanity at having him as one of my favorites)

Here is where I'm going to start ranting about how the series may end. Like I said, I've only read the first eight books, so I may not have all the necessary facts... but hey! I've got to speculate! I've read a bunch of speculation on other message boards, and I want to post soooooo bad on them, but the things won't let you post unless your a member!

And alas, I only have one friend that likes the series as much as I do, and he's on vaccation, so I can't rant to him about it! So here is where the ranting kicks in full-tilt! You've been warned!

........

Okay, if you're still reading this you'd better not mind spoilers and ranting....

One widely speculated thing that I've heard (or read, I suppose) on ASOUE message boards is that Mr. Poe will turn out to be a villain. Maybe it's just because he's one of my favorite characters, but I really don't think this will happen. At least, I hope not.

There are two main theories about him being a bad guy:

1. He's not as dimwitted as he acts and is working for Count Olaf

2. He is as dimwitted as he acts and he's being tricked into working for Count Olaf without his knowing of it.

I've got evidence to back myself up on this, but at the moment I can't remember it and I'm too tired to look it up (lol), but I really don't think he's going to be a bad guy.

But should that be the case, I do have a theory on what MIGHT happen if he were to turn villainous...

First off, Daniel Handler (the author of the books) has given two clues about the last book. Although I can't remember the exact quote, the first was something like "It won't have a 'Hamlet' ending". Interpreting that, I'm guessing that means that not everyone is going to end up dead.

The second was something like "It won't be a really good ending, but it won't be as bad as a lot of bad endings. It'll be bittersweet." (that's not the exact quote, but it was something to that effect. I'm almost certain he said "bittersweet" at some point in there...)

So that's just about all we (or I) know about the last book, and thus all I have to draw upon.

Now, say Mr. Poe turned out to really be a bad guy and really was working for Count Olaf. Then what? Personally, I don't think Mr Poe would be as downright bad as most of the villains in the book. In the end, I don't think he'd be able to see anything really bad happen to the children. So then I'd think that, say if he handed the kids over to Count Olaf again or something like that, perhaps he would have a change of heart or feel really guilty or something.

Then he might try to help the kids escape or something. But of course, this is a Series of Unfortunate Events, and Handler said it'd be a "bittersweet" ending, so my guess would be that if Mr. Poe tried to help the children escape he'd probably get killed in the process. Granted, I don't want to see him die, but it would follow in true ASOUE fashion if he got killed while helping them.

But of course, I don't want any of this to happen. He is one of my favorite characters, remember? But I guess if my theory was right (hehe, yeah right! lol! Don't make me laugh!) seeing him finally helping the children would be kind of rewarding.

And then of course there's the rumor that Beatrice is in fact the children's mother. But that's a whole `nother rant altogether, and I'll keep this one limited to my Mr. Poe argument. I'll post more about ASOUE later.

OK, I think I have the background working again. HOPEFULLY! I went with the star background again, and maybe it'll stay up this time.

Oh, and I finally found a profile picture that I like! None other than the One Ring! I may end up changing it to something else, but for the moment The One Ring will do.

Gotta go,

I finally got to see Star Wars. No, not the new one. Yes, I'm just now watching the original Star Wars. I've heard a lot about them, but I've just never gotten around to seeing them. When a friend heard me mention that fact, she nearly blew a gasket and procceeded to let me borrow her copies.

My conclusion?

Good stuff!

Now, there's some things that we need to get straight. First off, I still like Lord of the Rings better. Second, I'm a SW fan now, but I'm not a FANATIC. I'm not gonna go dress up as a Wookie and stand in line all day to see the new movie (no offence to anyone that would, though).

I've seen episodes I, II, IV, V, and VI and I'm dying to see Episode III. I think I like episodes IV-VI best though. I don't know why... better story, better villain, I'm not sure. The newer ones have the advantage of better graphics, the older ones have the advantage of better... well, everything else.

SPOILERS! DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE ENDING OF "RETURN OF THE JEDI"

I hate to say it, but near the end of ROTJ, I caught myself really hoping for Darth Vader to turn good-guy. And yes, I admit, when he finally did chuck the Emperor over the rail I was standing up pumping my fists in victory.  OK, and I'll admit that I also kinda hoped that he'd survive after that sudden twist. Oh well; he became a good-guy again, so that's good enough for me.
